| 2004 Stainless Steel Awards Winner - Projects Category Easy Engineering & Northpoint Architects Project : Design and manufacture of "Zulu Type" structures for Sibaya Casino in Umhloti  Easy Engineering and Northpoint Architects, who jointly designed and fabricated Zulu-type dome structures designed by Northpoint Architects for the Sibaya Casino in Umhloti, were named the winner in the Projects category of the 2004 Stainless Steel Awards The Pinetown-based company manufactured eight of these beautifully crafted, intricate stainless steel domes for the new casino being built by principal contractor WBHO Construction and scheduled to be opened in November this year by the Sun International group. A contract to produce eight of these Zulu-type domes in March this year and completed them in a record time of four months without compromising the quality of the work. The dome structures were installed on site during August and September this year. The concept for these dome structures is an evolution of the form of the Zulu hut and the hand sketches drawn by Northpoint architects combined with Easy Engineering’s design capabilities resulted in a contemporary stainless steel version of these traditional structures. The 40 strong staff complement at the Pinetown-based company fabricated these detailed structures using rolling, welding, section forming and pipe bending equipment. The visually arresting domes are testimony to the excellent quality of the workmanship for which the company has become renowned in the Durban area.
